The APM engineering vehicle is designed for multiple critical tasks, including shunting operations within vehicle depots, rescue operations for accident-affected trains on mainlines, emergency repairs and inspections on mainlines, and towing unpowered rail vehicles.
The vehicle utilizes a specialized chassis to enable road travel.
When transitioning to rails, it is guided by front and rear rail guidance systems. The rubber tires on the front and rear axles act as drive wheels on the rail surface. It is equipped with couplers at both ends and a vehicle braking system** for rail operations. The cabin features a heating and air conditioning system for operator comfort.
