Qingdao Metro Line 2 enters decoration and construction phase, set to open next year

The construction of Qingdao Metro Line 2 is progressing rapidly, and it is expected to be put into operation next year. According to the latest news, Line 2 has entered the phase of construction design and decoration work for station platforms, concourses, and entrance and exit passageways. It is understood that track laying will commence this month for the eastern section of Line 2 (from Zhiquan Road Station to Licun Park Station). This section will also be put into operation by the end of next year, and circular transfers with Metro Line 3 will be available at Licun Station and Wusi Square Station.
Track laying is about to commence on Line 2
The Qingdao Engineering Construction Management Information Network has released the prequalification announcement for the decoration and finishing construction of the public areas of Qingdao Metro Line 2 Phase I (from Mount Taishan Road to Licun Park Station). According to the announcement, the construction design and decoration work for the platforms, concourses, and entrance/exit passages of all stations along Line 2 will soon commence. It is understood that track laying work will begin on the eastern section of Line 2 (from Zhiquan Road Station to Licun Park Station) this month.
As the main artery connecting the east, west, and north of Qingdao, Metro Line 2 is of great significance in enhancing urban functions, conserving urban space, alleviating traffic congestion, and solving travel problems for the public.
Most sections of the road will be open to traffic next year
Metro Line 2 starts from Mount Taishan Road Station and ends at Licun Park Station. Since the commencement of construction, about 65% of the civil engineering work has been completed, with the main structures of 6 stations finished. The sections of Laoshan District and Licang District (from Maidao Station to Licun Park Station), the Zhiwu section (from Zhiquan Road Station to Wusi Square Station), and the Wufu section (from Wusi Square Station to Fushan Station) have all been successively connected.
According to the current project progress, the eastern section of Metro Line 2 (from Zhiquan Road Station to Licun Park Station) will be put into operation in December next year, and circular transfers with Metro Line 3 will be available at Licun Station and Wusi Square Station.
